Phil-World Gateway (PWG) is inviting officials/personnel/ functionaries of municipalities, cities and provinces as well as in national government agencies and government-owned and controlled corporations performing planning, development, zoning/land use, coordination, environment, engineering, tourism drr/cca, economic and legislative functions as well as those in the private sector and CSO to attend/participate in the Environmental Planning Capability Building Course 2017 on February 11 & 25, March 11, 18  & 25 and April 22, 2017, 8:00am – 5:00pm at the Leyte Resort Hotel/UPV-Tacloban College/EVSU, Tacloban City as a capacity development, refresher and/or review seminar-course. 

Registration Fee is PhP 9,800.00 good for 5-6 days every other Saturday live-out package inclusive of lunch, am & pm snacks, seminar kit, certificates and soft copy of seminar-course inputs. On or before January 20, 2017, early bird registrants who fully pay are entitled to a P500.00 discount, Reservation of slots will start to accept on December 01, 2016 up to January 20, 2017 upon payment of Reservaion Fee of P2,000.00, non-refundable, to ensure one of the limited slots (80 pax maximum).

Major areas of concentration are:

A.) History, concepts, theories and principles of environmental planning;
B). Environmental planning process, methods/techniques and strategies;
C). Environmental plan implementation, legal aspects and administration.

It will equip/capacitate or refresh participants with Environmental Planning knowledge, legislative/policy-making/reviewing inputs, guide/apply in actual work situations and provide updates on new planning laws, policies and rudiments applicable and useful in effective, efficient, resilient, inclusive and sustainable planning and development governance as well as emerging and mainstreaming trends in local, national and international scenes. Likewise, it will also provide an opportunity to those who are qualified to take and pass the licensure board examination for Environmental Planners by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on June 7-8, 2017 and be counted as one of the new and few EnPs of the more or less 3,000 PRC registered/licensed Environmental Planners of the country. Note: after 2018, only graduates from Environmental Planning baccalaureate or post-graduate degree courses can take said licensure exam.

Republic Act 10587 and its IRR, otherwise known as the Environmental Planning Act of 2013 enacted last May 2013 and repealing PD 1308, defines Environmental Planning as the “multi-disciplinary art and science of analyzing, specifying, clarifying, harmonizing, managing and regulating the use and development of land and water resources, in relation to their environs, for the development of sustainable communities and ecosystems”. Likewise, practice of it embraces, among others, providing professional services in the form of technical consultation, rendering of technical advice, plan preparation, capacity building and monitoring and evaluation of implementation involving xxxx. It also professionalizes planning and development positions in national government agencies, local government units and government-owned and controlled corporations.
